I've always seen Monster Jam through ads on Facebook but, we've never been. That's when Thunder Alley came our way. Over the Summer Monster Jam, Thunder Alley made it's way to Kings Dominion. You got to get up close and personal with legendary Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Zombie, Megalodon and Max-D. Take a freestyle ride all-new 10 passenger Grave Digger® or Megalodon® truck. When I saw the way Braden looked up at the Monster Trucks being his little small fry self, I knew we had to go.
We geared up, had our tickets waiting for us, and made our way to Monster Jam. If you don't know how to prepare for Monster Jam check out our guide below.
Before you make your way to your seats check out the merchandise they have, T-shirts, toys, headphones, earplugs, etc. We picked up a new toy for Braden and headed over to concessions. They have specialty souvenir cups and masks that come with cotton candy. He loves his new Megalodon Monster Jammin' Plush. After getting our souvenirs we headed to our seats.
During the show, you will watch the drivers go head-to-head with each other. We loved that we got to be the voters to determine who won. You had to go to the website www.judgeszone.com and type in the code they give you. Then after each vehicle went you got to score them. Grave Digger won during our visit.
My favorite competition was the monster truck freestyle. Each driver got their chance to drive around the track doing anything to wow us. One of the monster trucks flipped over and caught on fire! That was a Woah, did that just happen moment. It was really interesting to watch each monster truck defy gravity and catch air during their times.
My sister enjoys watching the speedsters take on the track to test their speed. She said that they were so cute and little, that she wanted one.
The trucks are loud so please be sure your little ones have headphones to protect their ears! Also, be sure to enjoy your time and make memories with your family. We sure did!
