Albergo Allegria: Catskills Bed & Breakfast Is Your Home Away From Home

Prepare to be wowed by the magnificent choice lodging at the Albergo Allegria. If you are visiting Windham, NY and looking for a cozy place to stay. Albergo Allegria is your home away from home. From the moment you walk through the door, everyone treats you as if you were family.

Check-in was super easy, as you get a key for your room rather that those key cards. Though I was wowed by the lobby and its gorgeous seating arrangements. Wooden fireplace, glass checkers, and amazing rustic decor, I couldn’t wait to see my actual room. I stayed on the 2nd floor and loved that the numbers were also added with the months of year.

Inside, the room was just as I imagined, spacious and comfy. It had a king-sized bed, excellent linens, LCD TV & DVD, little table to enjoy our meals by the window, and seating area. The bathroom had a shower/bath combo, fluffy towels, heated lamps and luxurious toiletries (thumbs up!). Albergo Allegria has dozens of different room types, so they can be as basic or as fancy as you wish.

Take a deep breath, capture the moments. Two acres of fresh air, country landscape, and relaxing space all within a mile of town and nearly direct access to the two-and-a-half mile Windham Path. We have to come back during the warmer months, as we were freezing coming from Maryland to the mountains.

The kitchen is rooted in an appreciation for respecting ingredients with an emphasis of home-cultivated and in-house prepared condiments for special entrees. Fifteen-raised garden beds

cultivated and nurtured by the Radelich and Leman family offers a true (back)Yard-to-Table experience during harvest season. What about non-harvest times? Rotating entrees will feature hand-crafted accompaniments made from onsite summer crops, or culinarily-transformed local produce.

Their breakfast is really a work of art. Celebrate the most important meal of the day with delicious home cooked meals. Passionately recognize: respect quality ingredients, seasonally-sourced culinary creativity prepared from scratch, present with hospitality.

Our favorite breakfast options were The Continental - In house made granola, creamy yogurt, and fresh fruit. (Gluten free. Contains nuts.) I love the little designs they add with our fruit especially a butterfly made of oranges. But you can't forget about the Mocaccino Waffles - Malted Belgium Waffles topped with a scoop of vanilla bean whipped cream, chocolate ganache and homemade coffee syrup. Dusted with powdered sugar, side of local maple syrup. They melt perfectly in your mouth, Definitely had to order more than once.

Thank you Marianna for keeping up with my tea addiction. With dozens of teas to choose from you can find your favorite tea to be prepared hot for you to enjoy!

If you're a snowboarder like myself or skier like Alyssa you'll love that Hunter Mountain was only 15 minutes away. There are tons of activities to do year round in Windham, NY and Albergo Allegria is in the center of everything! Check out everything there is to do within 12 to 24 miles away right on Albergo Allegria website.
