Fun To Explore At Freedom Falls

Freedom Falls Exploration

I have family that lives in Meadville, PA and I don't get the chance to see them too often but, when I do there is always something new for us to explore. This trip we went to Freedom Falls. It was absolutely beautiful.

After driving an hour through the middle of nowhere, I never thought we would see something like this. When you arrive you have find a spot to park on the side. If you keep driving to the second area then, it is a short walk down the hill to get there but, it is worth it. The waterfall was stunning. It is flat enough at the top where you can walk around in the water. The water is deep enough to dive off of the waterfall and swim. There are also rocks at the bottom to take pictures and relax. The best part about this place is that it is not packed like other parks would be. I hate an area with so many people that you can't have fun. The people that were there where spaced out so no one place was crowded. The lighting is also spectacular. I saw many people with cameras doing photo shoots.

We wanted to explore and see if there were other things that looked cool. As we walked down stream we found this thing that looked like a temple. We walked inside and the view was amazing when you looked up. The light found it's way inside to give you a view to remember. My brother and I had the same idea and we climbed up what we thought was a temple. Trees were growing at the top making it blend into the woods.

We came to find out that what we thought was a temple was really Rockland Furnace from 1832 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It was so well preserved that I did not realize how old this structure really was. Freedom Falls is located at 835 Rockland Station Rd, Kennerdell, PA and I strongly suggest if you are ever near there to stop in and explore. This will forever be one of the most amazing sites I've ever seen.
