It's Awesome To Know Before You Go, Legoland Edition Orlando, FL

Growing up, I always loved Legos. Even in high school, I did my class projects out of Legos. My favorite being that I built the entire Amphitheatre for Theater class only using Legos without a kit. So what better way to get my son to begin to love them as much as I do, than going to Legoland in Orlando. Legos bring your imagination to life with just a few blocks.

From the moment you walk in, you are captivated by the large displays built solely from Legos. Imagining the hours that had to be put into the artwork is mind-blowing. Characters from the Lego Movie are taller than I am and a waterpark with blocks that really float. Get ready to plan your creative destination trip from what to bring to how to purchase tickets.

What is Legoland?

Legoland is a place where kids rule, imagination is key and dreams come to life! It's where princesses, knights, and adventurers roam. Where dragons soar, castles are stormed, and pirates sail the seven seas. Truly the ultimate multi-day vacation destination for families with over 50 rides, shows, and attractions at the Theme Park, 14 water slides in the Water Park, 3 unique themed Hotels, and so much more! One day is not enough to explore all the adventures worth seeking.

Legoland is recommended for ages 2-12 but, my whole family enjoyed their trip. From Braden being 23 months old to age 50, we all had something to love!

Are there food options inside of the park?

Bring your appetite! Legoland offers favorites to everyone from cheeseburgers, pizza, a wide range of sweet treats and freshly prepared choices from tasty salads and fried chicken. Popcorn, novelty ice cream and cold beverages available at carts weather permitting.

A must get are delicious warm Granny Smith apple fries, dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Served with a sweet whipped cream dipping sauce. These were our absolute favorite located across the double-decker carousel when you arrive into the park. It was the perfect wait time to order, hop on the specialty carousel designed by your favorite Lego Movie character, then pick up and enjoy your tasty apple fries are warm, delicious to share with the whole family.

There are food options in both the park and waterpark during the day.

Are there options for food allergies or other dietary concerns?

Please view our Dietary Guide HERE, which can help you plan your dining experience at LEGOLAND while adhering to any specific dietary concerns or restrictions you may have. Please also email LLF-Food@legoland.com or visit Guest Services for more specific information if needed.

Are there long wait times?

Typically Legoland is not as busy as your Disney parks, but if you want to avoid the waiting lines, start with the farthest rides. The best advice that was given to me was to start from the left of the carousel. This has saved us a lot of time. There were hardly any lines on all the rides. The longest line we've come across was on average 10-15 minutes at most.

What To Bring Along On Your Destination Trip

You can't forget a camera to capture those special moments or riding through a lego safari or splashing around on islands that became home to floating Legos. Beat the summer heat with sunscreen (water resistant if entering the waterpark), hat, and some cool shades. The park is smaller than other Orlando resorts but, there is still quite a bit of walking so comfy shoes are your best bet and traveling with the little ones it's always a good idea to save your arm strength and bring along a stroller. In addition is counts as a storage space for all the awesome Lego gear you purchase during the day! Legoland does offer strollers to rent for the day. Bring an extra pair of clothes for the kiddos, a towel, and a swimsuit for the water park and or the splash area in Duplo Valley. Don't forget your lego figures to trade amongst the team members around the park.
